Dance and movement are powerful tools for self-expression and creativity. Tolo Ko Tolo run creative workshops in traditional and contemporary pan-African dance, improvisation and hip-hop. Our workshops draw on African dance techniques and principles as they are reflected throughout the Diaspora, such as: Connection between person and planet Presence The clarity of the body moving Isolation of body parts Rhythm & Repetition Improvisation & Expression Workshops include learning techniques, dances, songs, rhythms and Tolo Ko Tolo repertoire as well as exploring creative improvisations and the themes, history and cultural contexts of movement. Tolo Ko Tolo workshops provide a new context for thinking about movement, self and life. They aim to access that place in ourselves which is vibrant, playful and awake.
